Grant conditions

The Academy of Universal Heritage is a small organisation. We support projects that conserve historical artifacts and records relating to human heritage that may give new insights into human proto-history. To further such work we award an annual small grant. Applications are only by invitation at present.

Eligibility

Amongst the organisations that we support are libraries and archives holding collections that may significantly contribute to the understanding of our human heritage. They should have a clear emphasis on public access and engagement that enhances knowledge in a scientific evidence-based manner. Grants are generally awarded towards digitization as we see it as enhancing universal accessibility. The Academy of Universal Heritage can only make grants to organisations with a legal status. For example: universities; libraries; archives; museums; and charities.

The project should aim to produce one or more of the following outcomes:

  1. Enhance access to collections of universal significance relating to human heritage;
  2. Facilitate better public engagement with and understanding of human heritage;
  3. Improve scientific evidence-based understanding of human heritage.

Further details are provided to selected grant applicants.
